Experience the deep of Sisimiut Backcountry on dog sled 

Sled dogs have always been an indispensable part of life here and historically served as the primary means of transportation across the frozen backcountry.

On this dog sled adventure tour, you ride a traditional dog sled led by local musher, who use their dogs for hunting, fishing and tourism, among other things. Each musher plays an important role in preserving this cultural heritage and ensures that your experience is truly unique. You sit as a passenger behind the driver and ride through hilly terrain, experiencing both the strength of the dogs and the skill of the driver.

The adventure takes you to the scenic viewpoint of Qiterlinnguaq, where after some exciting and fascinating hills you are rewarded with a magnificent view of the snow-covered landscapes. Here you can enjoy the view as well as a sandwich and a hot drink.
When you are riding a dog sled, it is essential to stay warm so that you can enjoy the entire trip in peace and quiet. For that you can rent thermal suits and boots for 150 DKK.

Please note: The tour is not recommended for people with back problems.

The Dog Sled Adventure Tour lasts approximately four hours in total and costs 2,300 DKK for a single participant and 2,100 DKK for each if more than one participant.

Remember: when interacting with Greenlandic sled dogs, you must always respect them and always listen to your guide’s and musher’s directions and instructions.
