Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Northern Lights on this evening tour.  
Join us on a journey to experience the magical auroras around Sisimiut as we travel by minibus to the locations with the best chances of seeing this scenic phenomenon.  
 
Our adventure begins in the reception with a locally produced film introducing the science behind the Northern Lights as well as enchanting myths and legends of the Arctic.  
 
As the Northern Lights dance unpredictably across the sky, your chances of witnessing this wonder are almost 100% on frosty nights. We move away from light pollution to one of our viewpoints where you can sit or lie down as you admire the starry sky while enjoying a cup of hot drink. You can choose to take a short hike up a nearby hill; this provides a stunning 360-degree perspective of the valley and iconic mountains surrounding Sisimiut.  
 
Next, we head to Asummiut, the site of Sisimiut’s founding, for views of the David Strait and Nasaasaaq, framed by the twinkling lights of the city. Dress warmly as the magic unfolds in the clear night and make sure your cell phone is charged for optimal photos of the Northern Lights!
