Experience the essence of Greenlandic culture with our Dog Sled Discover Tour. Sled dogs are vital to life in Greenland, serving as the primary means of transportation across the frozen landscape.
On this tour, you’ll ride in a traditional sled guided by local dog owners who use their dogs for hunting, fishing, and tourism. Each owner plays an essential role in preserving this culture, ensuring a unique experience tailored to you.
You’ll sit as a passenger behind the dog sled owner, who controls the dogs. The adventure takes you to the foot of Niujarfik, with a scenic stop before climbing northeast of Sisimiut. On the way back, enjoy a moment to take photos while the sled driver manages the sled liners.
When going dog sledding, it is important to keep warm so you can enjoy your time outside. You can rent snowsuits and boots at Hotel Sisimiut.
Important Note: We do not recommend any dog sled tours for individuals with back problems.
The Dog Sled Discover Tour lasts two hours and costs 2.000 DKK for the first person and 1.800 DKK for additional participants.
