Winter Mountain Hike

Join a memorable snowshoe hike through the scenic mountains south of Sisimiut.  
This experience is perfect for all abilities, and our experienced guides will provide all the necessary equipment and support.  
 
We start at Hotel Sisimiut and head towards the famous Artic Circle Race rute, a cross-country ski trail. We pass through and continue towards the sea as we navigate through old glacial moraines.  
 
Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including arctic foxes and snow hares, as we search for their tracks and habitats. Depending on the snow conditions, past glacial movements can be seen in the landscape.  
 
After some hiking, we take a break to enjoy the stunning views of the possibly ice-covered coastline and the David Strait. We grab some refreshments and take advantage of the photo opportunities before exploring another moraine and passing Lake Nilliasup tasia, a major source of drinking water for the entire city. Once the lake is frozen, we cross it safely. We end our adventure at the frozen Scout Lake, a winter activity center, before returning to Hotel Sisimiut.  
 
When participating in our winter mountain hike, it is important to dress in layers and be prepared for changing weather conditions. The right clothing will ensure that you stay comfortable and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Keep in mind that you will be moving around and that you should not get cold if you are too hot and start sweating.  
 
Minimum participants:  
 Unless otherwise stated, the tour requires a minimum of 2 participants to operate. If the required number of passengers is not reached before departure and the tour has to be canceled, an alternative departure or a full refund of the amount paid will be offered.
