Sightseeing in bus & Aanaa’s house

Experience the interactions between tradition and modern life in Sisimiut with a sightseeing, and how the history of the town meets progress.  
The area has been inhabited for more than 4,500 years and is rich in stories and traditions but has also developed rapidly in the last 250 years since the founding of Holsteinsborg (Sisimiut’s old colony name).  
 
Today, Sisimiut is Greenland’s second largest city, where modern industry and education coexist with old traditions such as hunting, the Greenlandic national suit and tools.  
 
On this guided bus tour, we will explore Sisimiut’s past and present, and we will cover much of the town, including stops at the dog village and the local meat and fish market. We will get on and off the bus several times to get a closer look and take pictures, so bring a jacket, but no special equipment is necessary — this is a tour for everyone.  
 
You will also visit Aanaa’s house (grandmother’s house) and get a look into a traditional Inuit home. Enjoy refreshments as your guide shares stories of family life and customs.
