Winter Mountain Hike

Join us for a memorable snowshoe hike through the scenic mountains southeast of Sisimiut.
This experience is perfect for all skill levels, and our knowledgeable guides will provide all necessary equipment and support.

Starting from Hotel Sisimiut, we’ll head towards the renowned Arctic Circle Trail, making our way to Lake Nilliasup tasia, an essential drinking water source for the town. With the lake frozen, we’ll cross it and continue towards the sea, navigating through ancient glacial moraines.

Watch for local wildlife, including polar foxes and snow hares, as we search for their tracks and habitats. Depending on the snow conditions, we may also encounter interesting glacial features along the route.

After some hiking, we will take a break to enjoy stunning views of the icy shoreline and the Strait of David. We’ll grab some refreshments and capture photo opportunities before exploring another moraine and Sisimiut’s cross-country trails, concluding our adventure at the frozen scout lake, a hub for winter activities, before returning to Hotel Sisimiut.

When participating in our winter mountain hike, it’s essential to dress in layers and prepare for changing weather conditions. Proper attire will ensure you stay comfortable and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Minimum Participants:
Unless otherwise specified, the tour requires a minimum of 2 fully paying participants to proceed. If the required number of participants is not reached before departure, and the tour must be canceled, an alternative departure will be offered, or a full refund will be provided.
